Finally! I finished my 22 months degree program in Mass Communications with Oklahoma City University. The graduation was held on October 16 at the Ritz Carlton, we had to report in at about 11am to get ourselves registered, numbered and gowned.
We had to go through a round of rehearsal on that morning itself before the actual ceremony took place in the afternoon...
By about 12 noon, many were complaining of rumbling tummies... thankfully the good folks at MDIS were considerate enuf to provide a Gardenia bun for each granduand.
It was kinda grand when the whole ceremony started later in the afternoon.. I thot everyone looked kinda funny decked out in our gowns and the mortar boards...still it was an unique experience and one that we had worked hard for in the last 2 years... thus it was with an undeniable sense of pride that we marched in a single file and made our way into the main hall...
After the many speeches by the Guest of Honour and officials from OCU and MDIS... the award ceremony finally commenced.. a total of 700 over students received their certifications on that day... and before I knew it... it was my turn to walk up the stage, shake the hand of the guests of honour and receive my degree...YIPEE! At long last... I finally realized the first step of my academic aspirations...
Well... for now I am happy with what I got...perhaps when the itch to study starts again in a couple of years time... I shall reconsider my options...
