Dinner at Alexandra Village Food Market...
From Left to Right: Ho Wan aka Stupid Bao Bei, Kelvin, Megan and Dr. Musselman
Foods sampled: First to arrive, the Bak Kut Teh with the salted vegetables, followed by the Oyster Omelette, the sugar cane juice, the satay, seafood fried rice, sambal stingray and stir-fried kai lan...yummy a feast of local delights...
Commentary on the food: The assorted satay of pork, mutton and chicken were great with the peanut sauce blended with pineapple and I think the kai lan, stingray and fried rice was good as well... oyster omelette so so only...
We spent a happy hour or so over dinner...laughing and chilling out over food and drink... the night was still young so we decided to head up Mount Faber to show Dr. M, Singapore's night scene...
It was a lovely evening to be out walking and strolling, so after we parked the car...we all bounced out and started 'hiking' up to catch a glimpse of the limited night scene that Singapore has to offer...The picture on the left is just to show that we really made our way to Mount Faber that Saturday evening..
Since there really wasn't plenty to do up at Mount Faber...we drove to HarbourFront and made ourselves comfortable at Starbucks where we enjoyed icy Rhumba Frappuccinos and Dr. M has his ice hazelnut latte.
The subject for the rest of the evening was mainly a discussion of life, our career aspirations and what makes life fulfilling and worthwhile... I guess in a nutshell...so many of us are just rushing full steam ahead that we are often blinded by our make-believe goals and what's really important in a fulfilling and satisfying existence...
Life can be meaningful or it can be a burden...either ways...the choice is yours to make... the world can be your wonderland of miracles and it can also be one of bleakness and misery...whatever it is...the sun still rises and sets and life still goes on... so live your life the way you want to and have no regrets at the end of the journey...
Just make sure we have good friends beside us to experience and share life's ups and downs...
