What if people did not work

Kinda lazing around at home when this thought came into my mind...

Well, it's sorta nice to stay at home once in awhile, to recuperate your energies and refocus on what you want to achieve in life... work can be a pain in the ass sometimes especially with weird and senseless management directives...

Just yesterday, I did not know whether to laugh or cry with regard to my company's policy on lost cheques. The thing is this, due to a compensation scheme currently in place to compensate close to 14,000 members, we are making quarterly payments of part cash part voucher, each eligible claimant under the scheme is entitled in $120 cash and $120 in vouchers per quarter until full repayment of $3,000/$2,000.

If you happened to lose the cheque issued to you, there will be strictly no replacement even if you should make a police report or blah blah, if you would like the company to cancel the lost cheque however (you still don't get a replacement cheque) you would need to pay the company $20 admin fee for doing the cheque cancellation.

It made me wonder what's the logic of that... I mean if I had lost the cheque and no that under no circumstances would I be getting a replacement, then why should I bother calling the company to inform them of the lost...and worse...paying $20 to make a cancellation that is of NO benefit to me whatsoever?

Geez...might as well just tell the member to forget he/she ever received the cheque in the first place!

Or well...guess that's what they call a double whammy or stating the obvious like 'a colorful rainbow? or Spaghetti = Pasta but Pasta does not = Spaghetti?'

Haha anyway... my initial thoughts about this whole subject was... imagine a world without work... without the major MNCs that we are so familiar nowadays... what if no one invented companies...come to think of it... work is one of the largest components of Entertainment isn't it... a singular activity that keeps us entertained for up to hours on end... an activity that keeps us lawfully occupied, entertained and at times...amused for at least 8 hours a day!

Geez without work... what would we do? Watch movies? But there aren't any movie companies filming any production... no Hollywood, no Harvest Productions, no Disney productions... wonder if there'll even be books to read...since authors can write but with no publishing companies and no retailers and distributors...how would we ever lay our hands on the 'books'... plus maybe there'll be no school in the first place...so where would the authors learn how to write?

Guess we'll be digging for wild potatos and mushrooms and hunting for the occasional rabbit and fowl... wheez!
